Commemorating the legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) and his stand for justice, truth, and human dignity
Walk With UsJune 28, 2026 • Downtown Raleigh, NC
Every year, millions of people across the world walk to commemorate the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This procession, known as Juloos, is a peaceful march of remembrance and solidarity.
In 680 AD, Imam Hussain stood against the tyranny of Yazid at Karbala, sacrificing his life along with 72 companions and family members to preserve the principles of justice, truth, and human dignity.
The NC Juloos brings this commemoration to Downtown Raleigh, uniting communities in remembrance. We march not only to mourn, but to uphold the universal values that Imam Hussain gave his life for — values that resonate with every human being regardless of faith or background.
Hussain's stand teaches us that silence in the face of oppression is complicity. His message transcends time, faith, and geography. People of all backgrounds join this walk, united by the belief that justice and compassion are universal values worth standing for.
The procession is an act of peaceful solidarity — a reminder that the principles of sacrifice, truth, and service to humanity are as relevant today as they were over 1,300 years ago.
